Have you always wanted a little punch 'than my 70-200 2.8 VR. Could I have an off-brand zoom 200-5 – or add the teleconverter. I added the teleconverter and never regretted it. Sharpness Very little abandoned. Small and easy to use. F stop loss is manageable. Wide selection and allows me to stay with the brand Nikon
Nikon TC-17E II is the first teleconverter to offer 1.7x performance. Designed exclusively for use with AF-S and AF-I lenses, the AF-S Teleconverter TC-17E II completes the Nikon lineup of 1.4x, 1.7x, and 2.0x compact teleconverters. With dimensions of just 66 x 31.5mm (2.6 x 1.2 in.) and a weight of only 250g (8.8oz.)(approx.), the AF-S Teleconverter TC-17E II allows focal length to be extended by a factor of 1.7 times while retaining a sense of overall comfort in the hand. Many such teleconverters can also have a detrimental effect on the speed of the lens, however the AF-S Teleconverter TC-17E II makes available f-stops only 1.5 stops slower. The AF-S Teleconverter TC-17E II also has the ability to communicate with the signals from most lenses. Furthermore, it supports the convenient Nikon Vibration Reduction (VR) function, has a design that is consistent with the current TC-14EII and TC-20EII, and Eco-Glass is also used. This product is designed for AF-I & AF-S Lenses only.
so much probablem with AF – Gyong – United States
This lens is used, at least in my lenses, but if I use, I use with 70-200mm VR. Reach is no doubt that there are no decent extras, but most often it is used, it gives me problems with concentration, where the electrical connection is not always good connection. TC time when I turned back and len trigger to work for some time, and sometimes not. It could be really frustrating. My 70-700mm VR once in a while is the samething, but somewhere in the vicinity, such as CT. Some images aresoft, which I prefer to collect a 70-200mm lens used as this TC.
Nikon TC-17E II – Charles –
Works great with my 70-200 VR, but is a bit 'soft open to 320 millimeters. Performance at F7.1, and it takes a lot of light for best results. It 'a good compromise for advanced telecommunications services, but rather slow for low light conditions, the evening and "Blue hour" photo.
Excellent results – S. Benning –
The TC-17E II is a good way to add an additional 70-200 2.8 vr.
I do not see a loss of image quality, with the teleconverter in place and even though the D80 with an auto focus does not seem too slow, or more than usual to hunt.
Perfect Match! – Roberto Abdala Selmen – Mexico City, Mexico
