I will make this short, this camera is great! I studied for a DSLR for several years. I did not want to make the jump because of the cost and confusion seems to be. So, I finally decided to Pentex K-7, after much research. I have always supported Cannon Nikkon Pentax or only appeared to be a real camera and not all the hype is. I really liked the rating forecast for this camera. My first impression is that this camera is great, has lotsI love the features and image quality and quality feel of the camera base.
I only had about two weeks, and I bought the book with Magic Lantern is what I recommend if your new DSLR. About 500 images so far and I'm very happy with the fingerprints taken and speed camera impressed. I took a trip into the past Sedona, Arizona, was hit hard by wind / sand ontop of a ridge and was happy to have such a resistance to weather camera. I took aA total of 200 photos and all photos are sharp and clean. The only problem was that I was a good 55mm UV filters that do not recommend I bought. I have some pictures of flares in the West during the photo at sunset. So I am a B + W Filter of high quality that I ordered by mail soon. Do not waste your money on a cheap filter!
I also like the software that came with the K-7. Not as good as Photoshop, but it is easy to use and can do well when it comes to retouching WBEv and really fast.
All in all, I am a new DSLR user and I'm still learning to master the camera and digital photography in general. But the K-7 is simple to use and is a pleasure to work with. I like the quality of the camera and see what I can, the camera takes pictures and amazing. I ordered a tripod that I have not had a chance but will soon and I will update my review for night shots.
If your idea of a camera and want a good camera, the usualbreak the bank but continue to buy from the most popular models of this camera then!

Rather sharp lens. Lens seems to have a good fit tight.
The picture quality is good. There is enough detail to show that the 14 Mpix sensor K20D.
"Focus Shift" is a nice feature.
If K20d/K10d is set to autofocus, and shutter button is pressed, the lens is focused manually by simply turning the ring. No need to push / pull the manual focus ring, as the Tokinas.
To withdraw l 'Focus ring rotates when autofocusing. He must keep hands off until it is done auto-focusing.
(FYI, the Nikon lens SilentWaveMotor has the same "Focus Shift", but the ring of fire does not turn on when auto-focus.)
According to the manual "GL" objective function resistant to moisture, but "dust" is not listed as a function.
DA * is referred to as moisture and dust. (This is only a WR, and not as a cheap DA *)
Not in photored rubber ring on the lens mount, that mounts the lens gasket, if installed on the SLR.
Worth the $ $ $.
