Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS USM Super Telephoto Lens for Canon SLR Cameras Review
This lens is ideal for sports and wildlife photography. The newly designed optical system has one fluorite element and two UD-glass elements to obtain high resolution and high contrast. Also, the minimum focusing distance was reduced to 18 ft. (5.5m). Extender EF 2x II can be attached to increase the focal length to 1200mm while retaining AF (at the center focusing point with the EOS-1v and EOS-3).
The good news is that the goal of producing some very sharp images and high quality is capable of. The bad news is that the copy (which is 4 stars instead of 5). Not necessarily believe those who tell you that it is "good technique".

For comparison, the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L, 70-200 f/2.8 L IS own and 100-400 mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS. The 600 mm is my only prime number, so it should come as no surprise that performs the best of all lenses are in my collection. The 70-200 is a close second in terms of performance.

I have this goal for most of a year in possession, and are perfectly happy with him.
The disadvantage of this method – it is almost 12 pounds, and costs half as much as a small car.

After a year of launch of a competitor 500 millimeters F6.4 Zoom – and poignant that it would be worth the price, I updated the Canon 600mm.
The improvement in picture quality is strong. Bokeh is superb. The F4, combined with the IS will allow me, the images that are out of reach with the goal of others. And the extra 100 mm focal length – especially in combination with Canon 1.4X Extender really tunedfills the frame, and with what you shoot.
I have it shot in extreme temperatures from 90 F-3F and over 20K images, is never the slightest problem.
The autofocus is fast and the dual-mode and it works very well.
Invest in a decent tripod and gimbal head (Manfrotto works very well at a fraction of the cost of Wimberly) and you'll be happy. Try to hand hold this beast, and will not be.
But if you thinkMovement up to this end take a keen Bird & Wildlife photographers – you will not regret it!
Big Guns! – Longhorn – Big country
This is a great lens to bring things up close and personal. Has image stabilizer that works great. Po 'on the heavy side. Propose as a worthy expense and weight.
